Six interlocking programs designed around one model: real relationships, sustained over years, that turn youth into leaders.
Academic Support
Mentoring Mentors provides one-on-one and small-group tutoring focused on literacy, math, and study skills. Mentees commit to GPA benchmarks and receive weekly academic check-ins from staff and mentors.

Intergenerational Mentoring Model
Our signature Intergenerational Near-to-Peer Model pairs youth with mentors only a few years older, then layers in seasoned community leaders. The result is a continuous pipeline of leadership development.

Community Partners
From HBCUs and PWIs to local employers and foundations, our partners open doors to opportunity, fund critical programming, and host our youth on campuses and at workplaces across Maryland.
Career Exposure
Mentees visit HBCUs, PWIs, and MSIs, meet professionals from medicine, law, tech, finance, and the trades, and develop the resumes and soft skills they need to walk through any door.
Summer Leaders Program
From July 7 to August 8, our Summer Leaders earn paid internships while engaging in service projects, college visits, and leadership labs. It is the most concentrated growth window of the year.

Beyond Mentoring
Our alumni stay rooted in the MMI family long after the program ends. We celebrate weddings, first jobs, and graduate degrees, and we stay on call when life gets hard.
